Chicken and Honey Doggie Biscuits

Chicken and Honey Doggie Biscuits

2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 egg
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons minced garlic
3 cups whole wheat flour, plus more for kneading
1 cup cracked wheat

Preheat oven to 325

In a large bowl, whisk together yeast and water. Mix in egg, broth, honey and garlic. Gradually pour in the flour and cracked wheat - adding just enough wheat flour to form a stiff dough. You may or may not need to add more.

Scoop dough out onto a lightly floured surface - adding enough flour to keep it from sticking. Knead until smooth. Roll dough to a thickness of about 1/4". Cut out shapes using your favorite cutters and place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Bake for about 45 minutes, rotating pans halfway through. Remove and set cookies on a wire rack to cool completely.
